ISS celebrated its 40th anniversary with a special event held on January 25, 2025. Over 100 past and present employees and others from ISS' local community were invited to gather and reminisce on shared, foundational experiences that contributed to its journey over its 40+ years of business. With so many in attendance to celebrate, there was certainly no shortage of stories to tell about the impact ISS has had across the community and beyond.
A lot has changed since ISS' humble beginnings in 1984, evidenced by the assortment of backgrounds and experiences from its history converging at the anniversary celebration. Yet, ISS continues to thrive for a variety of reasons.
“What ingredients does it take for a company like ISS to thrive all these years?” asked ISS’ president, Reid Thomas, during his heartfelt address over the evening. “It takes vision, commitment to excellence, enthusiasm for customer satisfaction, and a strong team of individuals.”
Reflecting further on ISS’ past, Reid emphasized the impact each and every individual invited to attend the celebration made on ISS. “Whether you were a past or present employee or a part of ISS’ local community that helps keep the business running day to day. Whether you were involved in ISS' evolution directly or indirectly. Each of your contributions – big or small – are foundational to the success ISS continues to enjoy.”
In Reid’s closing remarks, he took a moment to honor his father and ISS’ late founder, Dr. Everett Thomas. As a decorated veteran of Vietnam, a colonel of the US Air Force, a professor, a researcher, an entrepreneur, and a father, Dr. Thomas’ accolades paint a picture of a remarkable individual whose actions and vision provided the gold standard for excellence and integrity that carries ISS forward to this day.
